Mini Horse Outreach Receives National Attention

1–2 minutes

The Mini Horse Outreach team and Muffin attended the Vision 2020 Model Performance Community Risk Reduction Symposium 9 in Concord, NC.

Lindsay McDade and Kat Wilson presented on how animal assisted interventions (AAI) are making a difference in risk reduction regarding opioid misuse and the reduction of overdoses since the program’s inception. They also talked about the history of the program and how Muffin and Mila the therapy horses create greater engagement, reduce stigma, and help foster hope and recovery.

Muffin was able to travel to the conference as well and stayed at a “horse hotel” Wings of Eagles Ranch when not visiting. We are very thankful for the national exposure for our Mini Horse Outreach program, everyone who came and visited us, and supported our mission.
