Why Horses?
Horses are naturally intuitive animals. As prey animals, they read body language and respond in the moment. Their honest, non-judgmental feedback helps us become more aware, present, and resilient. This makes them powerful partners in learning mindfulness and emotional resilience.
Horses do not see labels.
Derogatory words such as “addict”, “junkie”, “crazy”, “unstable” can cause harm and increase stigma. The horses does not see the labels. The horse only knows who are you in this present moment. They are non-judgmental, innocent animals, with big hearts.

What is learned in “horseville” transfers over to “peopleville”
Most people suffer trauma and traumatic incidents at the hands of other people but rarely because of animals (though there are exceptions to this). Horses provide a safe and connected environment to build and learn relationship skills that can be transferred to human relationships.
