TEA Program Returns

1–2 minutes

The Therapeutic Equine Activities (TEA) Program returns this March for the 2026 Spring semester at the Historic Columbia Speedway. TEA program came as a result from the Mini Horse Outreach (Muffin Cares) Program growth. Feedback was received that people wanted more time with the horses.

We take the winter and summer off due to weather and are super excited to start back in couple of weeks! TEA will be on Tuesdays at the Speedway in Cayce, SC. The program is currently offered at no cost and open to those in recovery, first responders, and those wanting to improve their mental wellness.

The TEA program teaches Mindfulness through the horse and human partnership. It can be easy to become disconnected from oneself with busyness of life. The TEA program helps to engage the “rest and digest” system. Each of our horses (and donkey) helps to teach the different resiliency skills in a practical non-judgemental way. The skills learned with the horses transfer over to the “people world”.

Our hope is the TEA programs helps strengthen mental wellness, recovery, and overcoming adversity. If you are interested in joining the TEA program please submit the interest form.
